RedOctane has announced that a public screening of Guitar Hero II is scheduled to take place at the EIEF between 11:00am and midday on Tuesday August 22 at the Odeon, Lothian Road.

This will be the first time members of the public will have access to the game, including the new multiplayer element in which two players work together playing Rhythm, Lead and Bass guitar parts.

Tickets for the screening are free, but will be issued on a first come, first served basis from any Gamestation store in Scotland. There’ll also be a limited number of tickets available on the day at the Odeon, Lothian Road.

The Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival is all about celebrating the cultural impact of games – and Guitar Hero is perhaps the finest example of this,” says Dave Noble, business development, RedOctane. “Never before has a game boasted such widespread appeal, with everyone male, female, young and old able to enjoy rocking out with the included Guitar Hero SG controller. Edinburgh is the perfect place to introduce the sequel, and we can’t wait to see the reaction from both industry and consumer alike.
