Developer Arc System Works has announced that Guilty Gear Strive has shipped over 500,000 copies at retail and digital in its first month of sale.

To celebrate the 2D beat-em-up hitting the milestone, the studio says it will reveal the game’s first DLC character next week via their YouTube channel. As previously established, the game is set to receive five additional characters at a rate of one a month. Given they previously said the first one would launch in July, that gives them just over two weeks to get them out the door, so expect their launch to come not long following the reveal.

The live stream will take place pretty early for us UK folk, set to kick off at 2am BST on July 21. You’ll be able to pick up the mysterious new character with the game’s Season Pass, and a Combo Maker and Digital Figure mode are also set to come to the game as free updates in the future.

Guilty Gear Strive is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
