Killzone 2 for PlayStation 3 isn’t likely to hit stores this year, but there is some hope that PlayStation 3 owners will get to sample the game’s multiplayer mode before the game is complete.
In a move not dissimilar to the Halo 3 beta, Guerrilla Games’ Seb Downie has revealed on the game’s official forum that the developer is very much in support of a public Killzone beta.
“Of course there is going to be a public beta. I have always said that any game that has an online mode needs to go through a public beta to ensure it works as intended,” said Downie.
He left the forum’s readers salivating, concluding his post: “More on a beta later this year.“
With Halo 3 scheduled for release on Xbox 360 in September, PlayStation 3 owners will no doubt be looking to Killzone 2 to provide similar FPS thrills.
