A new title update for the Steam version of GTA San Andreas has forced the removal of 17 songs from the game’s soundtrack.

The affected songs are the same tracks missing from the recent Xbox 360 release, suggesting their removal may be due to expired licenses.

Perhaps more disappointingly, however, the update also renders previous save games unplayable, although new games aren’t affected.

Thankfully, a fan-made patch has been released which not only restores save games, but also corrects other peculiarities, such as missing resolution settings.

You’ll find the SilentPatch here.
