The Grand Theft Auto video game franchise has now shipped 125 million units worldwide, Take-Two Interactive chief executive officer Strauss Zelnick revealed at the Credit Suisse Technology Conference overnight.
The figure shows an 11 million unit increase compared to the 114 million shipped as of September 2011.
"Grand Theft Auto has the highest quality of any title, which is why it is the standard-bearer in the business. It's why it's sold 125 million units.
While no complete breakdown of sales has been given, a Take-Two representative did tell GameSpot that GTA 4 accounts for 25 million units.
GTA 5 is set to launch for Xbox 360 and PS3 in spring 2013.
