GTA franchise dominates Take-Two revenue

Take-Two has reported that its fourth quarter (August 1 – October 31 2008) losses doubled over the same period last year to $15 million. However sales are reported to be up 11 per cent to $323.4 million and the company reported fiscal year profits of $97.1 million.

Speaking to inventors Take-Two noted that the Grand Theft Auto franchise accounted for $710 million, some 60 per cent, of the company’s publishing revenue for the fiscal year and only $40 million in the fourth quarter.

Gamasutra reports that Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick added that Midnight Club: Los Angeles, NBA 2K9 and Sid Meier’s Civilization: Revolution played key roles in the fourth quarter results.
