Rockstar has released a free add-on for GTA Online on Xbox 360 and PS3 that lets players create their own firework displays to celebrate July 4.

The Independence Day Special introduces two new vehicles, including the Sovereign motorcycle and “super-sized” Liberator monster truck, alongside two new weapons – the antique, high-powered Musket and “spectacular” Firework Rocket Launcher – and a variety of “patriotic” clothing.

Twelve varieties of fireworks and different fuse lengths are available, too, that allow players to “create a spectacle that would make even the most battle-hardened Republican Space Ranger shed a tear”.

The Pleasure Pier has been opened for business as well, with players now able to ride the Ferris Whale and Leviathan Roller Coaster.

The Independence Day Special is available to download now for free on Xbox 360 and PS3.

Be sure to download it quick, though: Rockstar says that the Independence Day Special is only available until mid-July.

The new content comes as part of GTA 5 Game Update 1.15, details of which you can find here.
