Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V will be set in LA and feature numerous playable characters, according to a rumour on Kotaku. The gaming culture site is reporting info given to them from a source supposedly familiar with the game, and multiple other sources.

That’s all the info the sources divulged, but it suggests we’ll be returning the city we saw in GTA: San Andreas, LA Noire and Midnight Club LA. Multiple playable characters isn’t a new idea for Rockstar, either, with GTA 4, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony each letting players take control of a different main character within the same universe.

Yesterday Rockstar confirmed GTA 5 with a trailer promised for November 2.

While we’ve seen LA in numerous Rockstar titles, it would certainly be exciting if GTA 5 returned the type of gameplay seen in San Andreas, which many people consider to be the best GTA title. We discuss what we want from GTA 5 elsewhere on the site.
