Amazon has sold out of the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto 5, days in advance of the game’s global release.

In an update posted on its website, Amazon UK said that “due to high demand, orders placed for Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox 360) from September 13 will be shipped as soon as we receive inventory”.

The game is still available to pre-order for launch day delivery on PlayStation 3.

Amazon appears to be the first major retailer to have sold through its launch allocation of GTA 5. The Xbox 360 version is still available to order at GAME and ShopTo.net.

If you’ve yet to pre-order GTA 5, GAME has promised that copies will be available to pick up in-store on launch day.

GTA 5 launches on Tuesday, September 17. Our review will be live on the site on Monday, September 16 at 3pm BST.
