USA Today has revealed that the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV downloadable episode coming exclusively to Xbox 360 is to be released on February 17, 2009.
Titled The Lost and Damned, the DLC stars Johnny Klebitz, a member of Liberty City biker gang The Lost.
“Johnny is a very different character than Niko, with a very different background,” said Dan Houser, vice president of creative development for Rockstar Games. “I can’t go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released. But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City.”
Houser added that while “the story is not directly impacted by decisions you took in the main game … tons of details and mysteries from the main story get explained, so it will add a lot of colour to the main story”.
GTA 4 was released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in April 2008 and saw Niko Belic, a former Eastern European solider, create a new life for himself in Liberty City. The Xbox 360 DLC will only be available to gamers with the original game and an Xbox LIVE account. No pricing information has been released.
Previous information also indicated that there will be two exclusive episodes coming to Xbox 360, although USA Today only details one.
