Gran Turismo 5 has every chance of setting a new visual bar for racing simulations, but according to series creator Kazunori Yamauchi the PS3 still has more to give.
Asked by VentureBeat at CES last week how hard Gran Turismo 5 pushes the capabilities of the PS3, Yamauchi said: [The game uses] about 80 percent of the processing power. The PS3 hardware has a very high peak performance. The better you manipulate it, the better it performs.”
The game’s already looking hugely impressive, and is one of the reasons its recently announced delay has been so disappointing for fans. The game had been scheduled for release on March 31 in Japan, while no firm date has been confirmed for Europe and North America.
