Speaking to VideoGamer.com yesterday, industry legend and Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi commented on the visuals we can expect to see in Gran Turismo 5.

When asked if we’re going to see any improvements over the already stunning visuals seen in Gran Turismo 5: Prologue he said: “In terms of quality we’ve been able to establish a benchmark in this version, but I think with GT5 there will be additional refinements, perhaps to the lighting and maybe the weather… weather effects.”

He also spoke about the large gap between current real-time computer graphics and non-real-time computer graphics, hoping that the gap will be closed in the next generation of consoles.

“Real-time computer graphics are about 10 years behind non-real-time computer graphics like you see in movies,” said Yamauchi-san. “I think that gap is what we’ll be trying to fill in the years to come.”
