Console gamers holding off on picking up Ubisoft Reflections’ Grow Home on PC in the hope a console version will appear down the line face a quandary.

You see, Ubisoft Reflections artist Jack Couvela has said on Twitter that all hope of a console port for Grow Home relies on the PC game being a success. And success is judged on sales.

“Want to see Grow Home on consoles?” Tweeted Couvela. “We have to prove ourselves on PC first, so tell every PC gamer you know they have to buy it!”

So those who want a console version may have to stump up £5.99 for the PC version first.

The situation is the same for a Mac version, with Couvela stating that the game is “going to need big PC sales to justify that one”.

As for an iPad version, don’t hold your breath.

“It’s really designed for a gamepad or keyboard,” Couvela said. “It would be a very different game if we made it work with touch.”

Strong sales or not, we’d be amazed if a console version of Grow Home isn’t in the works already.
