Developer Wired Productions has announced that its futuristic racer GRIP: Combat Evolved is launching a Summer of Combat campaign, featuring new free cars, new tracks and more.

As per the game's blog, the event kicks off today with the game being made available to play for free from today through to July 7 on Xbox One via the Xbox Free Play Days promotion. After that, all formats will find a new manufacturer in the game; Artifex, who are offering up three new Airblade (the new vehicles added to the game back in May) and Roller vehicles.

There's also two new space tracks to race around, new garage cosmetic packs, a new free Orbital Prime Arena map and a 'to be revealed' new car that's apparently been 'inspired by an 80s classic'.  There's a trailer for all this, which we've embedded below.

GRIP: Combat Racing is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
