Futuristic racer GRIP, which already clearly wears its colours on its chest as being inspired by RollCage, has today launches its latest update, adding new anti-grav vehicles that make more than a passing resemblance to another 90s PlayStation racing hit.
In the free update, the new AirBlade veichles inspired by Wipeout join the original wheeled Roller racers that the game shipped with originally. These can be used on the game's existing courses or on any of the new tracks also included within the update, alongside some all new game modes.
In a press release, Leo Zullo – Managing Director of developer Wired Productions said 'I’m pretty sure if WipeOut and Rollcage hooked up, this is the baby they’d pop out. It’s beyond exciting to finally be able to reveal AirBlades, as we see it as a true game changer and industry first.'
Here's the trailer to go with today's announcement. GRIP: Combat Racing is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch release pencilled in for later this month.
