Gran Turismo 5 has sold 10 million units worldwide, with total franchise sales reaching 70 million units, Sony has announced.
Almost half of the series total sales were sold in Europe.
SCEE president and CEO Jim Ryan discussed the series success at Gran Turismo’s 15-year Anniversary event at Silverstone this afternoon, where Gran Turismo 6 will be revealed.
“[Gran Turismo is] as relevant now as it was 15 years ago,” said Ryan (via PlayStation EU Twitter). “It’s been hugely successful and continues to be.”
“PlayStation and Gran Turismo are always going to be linked, GT is exclusive to PlayStation.”
The first official information on Gran Turismo 6 is expected to be announced at around 5pm BST this evening.
