Nintendo 64's classic shooter GoldenEye is being given a modern overhaul in Unreal Engine 4, thanks to a team of dedicated modders at GoldenZen (via dosgaming).

GoldenEye 25 is still in the early stages of development, although it's already looking pretty faithful to the original game. The modding team behind the first-person shooter remake has also released a couple of gameplay videos showing how it's shaping up, so check them out below.

Of course, this sort of thing could go be shut down by tomorrow for all we know. Some examples coming to memory include fan remakes of Metal Gear Solid, P.T., and Resident Evil 2.

Still, doesn't hurt to see how it's coming along just in case it lives to see the light of day, right?

GoldenEye was developed by Rare and came out in 1997 for Ninty's cartridge-based home console, and is widely regarded as one of the most influential shooters of all time. It had an awesome split-screen multiplayer mode, too.
