In development at Sony Computer Entertainment America’s Santa Monica Studios, the game will once again feature Kratos, the warrior from the original game who battled Ares to become the God of War. In the sequel he’ll be armed with new magic and brutal new combat moves. There’ll also be plenty of fiendish puzzles and new mythical creatures to battle.
“In the gaming world, it’s rare that a sequel equals, let alone eclipses the original, but I think this is going to be the exception to the rule in terms of quality, gameplay and story,” commented award-winning God of War developer David Jaffe, who will also oversee development of the sequel. “I always said that God of War was my dream game, well no longer, God of War II really is the game I’ve always wanted to play.”
Expect to see a lot more on the game at this year’s E3 in May.
