Goat Simulator will release on Steam on April 1, Coffee Stain Studios has announced.

The game shot to fame when early alpha footage went viral on YouTube, leading to real demand for the game to be released. Developer Coffee Stain listened to the fans and worked to ensure the game saw the light of day.

Gameplay is said to be inspired by old-school skating titles, but instead of being a skater you are a goat. And instead of doing skate tricks you wreck stuff.

Steam Workshop integration will enable players to make their own goats, missions, levels and more.
