Glitch, the browser-based MMO developed by Flickr co-founders and Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi, is putting an end to premium in-game housing since going back to beta.

In December of last year the game was “unlaunched” and pulled back into beta in order to make major changes.

The first major change is to housing in order to make the earlier stages of the game easier, according to a Q&A on the MMO’s official blog.

Players will now be assigned a house from the start and be able to carry it inside their own minds, bypassing a previous issue that had users making trips all across a map to return to their home.

The house will still have an external interface that other users can visit, and players will be able to customise them with additional rooms and gardens, along with other features.

Users who will be losing their existing housing will be compensated in some form, a new tutorial will talk them through this revised system.

The change is expected to happen in roughly two months.
