Activision is developing a new Ghostbusters game to tie in with this summer’s movie, according to a new report.

Retail trade site Retail Merchandiser claims that a new “full-fledged ‘Ghostbusters’ video game from Activision will release alongside the movie” on PS4 and Xbox One, but does not reveal which studio is developing it, the type of game it may be, or whether it will feature the new female cast.

Activision has yet to announce that it’s developing a Ghostbusters game, nor was it known that it had acquired the license. The last major Ghostbusters game, 2009’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game, was published in Europe by Sony on PS3, PS2 and PSP, and later brought to Xbox 360, Wii, DS and PC by Atari.

Activision is expected to discuss more about its plans for its new financial year next week, however, so if we haven’t heard more before then, expect to see it drop some hints then.

The new Ghostbusters film hits cinemas in the US this July.
