Ghost of Yotei is the most exciting PS5 exclusive set to come out following in the footsteps of Death Stranding 2. Its release date is October 2nd, so we only have a few more months to wait for it to finally arrive. While we cannot get our hands on the game yet, there is a State of Play happening today, and the leading star of Ghost of Yotei has expressed their excitement for the gameplay deep dive.

Ghost of Yotei star shares excitement for upcoming State of Play

Sony has confirmed a Ghost of Yotei State of Play is happening on July 10th at 2PM PT/5PM ET/10PM BST. According to Sucker Punch via the PlayStation Blog, the State of Play will last roughly 20-minutes.

It will be hosted by Sucker Punch’s Creative Directors, Jason Connell and Nate Fox, and there will be an emphasis on gameplay. This includes showing Atsu’s “new weapons,” as well as “new ways to personalize your journey at the edge of Japan, new special modes, and much more”.

Atsu is the new protagonist of Ghost of Yotei, replacing Jin from Ghost of Tsushima. Atsu is played by Erika Ishii, and, ahead of the State of Play, the performer has expressed their excitement as well as their love for the series.

On X, Erika posted, “I logged more than 80 hours and 100%ed Tsushima, so when I tell you I am excited about this gameplay…”. Sucker Punch also responded, saying they “can’t wait to hear your impressions”.

It’s always great when a video game’s cast are as passionate about the gameplay as much as their performance. We cannot wait to see Erika’s performance as Atsu in the full release, and we have very little doubt the gameplay will be excellent thanks to the brilliance of Ghost of Tsushima.

Previously, former PlayStation President, Shuhei Yoshida, shared his impressions of Ghost of Yotei after briefly getting to play, and he said the upcoming sequel is “even better”.

In other PlayStation news, an alleged QA tester has claimed Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic is The Last of Us 2 meets Dark Souls.
