Capcom has kick-started the next crossover event for Monster Hunter World, with The Witcher III's Geralt now strutting his stuff in the sprawling action-adventure title.

The main highlight here is the new mission titled Trouble in the Ancient Forest, which sees Geralt tracking a beast known as the Leshen. You'll be able to get stuck into The Witcher III crossover event as soon as you've grabbed the latest Monster Hunter World update, which is free to download.

Geralt's questline will unlock components to make his armour set, and you'll also be able to earn other goodies including new gestures, titles, a pose, and the Cursed Staff for your Palico.

Another quest will go live on February 15, known as Woodland Spirit. This will see you squaring off against a more powerful form of Leshen, and completing it will give you access to Ciri's armour set and dual blades. It's tough though; only people who have reached Hunter Rank 50 will stand a chance.

Monster Hunter World arrive in January 2018, and is Capcom's best-selling title to date.
