This huge update brings fans newcomers Xilonen and Chiori will be making their debut, quickly becoming the favorites of many miHoYo fans. Because 5.0 was a significant update for the game, some of the characters for 5.1 and beyond were leaked. That’s the life of a live-service game and it will be interesting to see what other details will eventually get released.
Genshin Impact 5.1 maintenance
Maintenance for Genshin Impact 5.1 start on October 9th. The maintenance period will last for a total of five hours, after which the new update will release on all platforms.
HoYoverse has said that players won’t be able to log in to the game during this maintenance period, so players hoping to earn more Primogems or beat a specific chapter may want to wait. The update will automatically start once maintenance has finished, so players can start new quests and gain those new characters quickly.
When will Genshin Impact 5.1 be available?
The maintenance period for Genshin Impact 5.1 starts at 6AM UTC/11PM PT/7AM BST on October 9th. With an estimated five hours of maintenance, the update should be available on 11AM UTC/4AM PT/12PM BST.
As mentioned earlier, the game will not be playable during maintenance time so players should expect a lengthy wait. Since anything can happen online, it wouldn’t be too surprising if the update is released a minute or two later than expected, though that’s not always the case.

Here are the brand-new characters players can pull as a part of Genshin Impact 5.1:

- Hutao (5-Star)
New Quests
Once Genshin Impact 5.1 becomes available, the following Argon Quests will be added to the game permanently:
- Chapter V: Act III “Beyond the Smoke and Mirrors”
- Chapter V: Act IV “The Rainbow Destined to Burn”
When does Genshin Impact 5.1 end?
Phase One of this Banner Event will start on October 9th and end on October 29th. During this period, players will have a better chance at recruiting Xilonen, Chiori, Collie, Candace, and Dori during this Banner Event.
Fans will be able to start Phase Two on October 29, with the Banner Event ending on November 19. Throughout this event, players will be able to recruit Nahida and Hutao.
