Genshin Impact is the king of the gacha games genre. There are brilliant additions to the market such as Wuthering Waves, as well as other titles from Hoyoverse like Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, but the world of Teyvat still remains the most popular gacha destination. Update 5.0 isn’t too far away, and Genshin Impact 5.0 leaks provide an overview of the update including an exciting “playable” character for the future.
Right now Genshin Impact fans have been treated to the release of update 4.8. This will bring the debut of new playable character, Emilie, as part of the phase two banner releases. If you’re looking for a gacha alternative in addition to Teyvat, Wuthering Waves is a great call as leaks suggest it is getting a big upgrade Genshin fans have wanted for years, meanwhile, update 1.2 is near and would be the perfect entry point for new players.
When WuWa update 1.2 comes out, Genshin Impact 5.0 will follow shortly after. Leaks have provided an overview of the upcoming new chapter, and there is the suggestion that the mysterious Il Capitano will become “playable” sometime during chapter five.
Genshin Impact 5.0 leaks reveal “playable” Il Capitano
A list of leaks for Genshin Impact update 5.0 has appeared online. Below is the leaked overview courtesy of popular leaker, Genshin_Intel:

- Nightsoul: Natlan mechanics for characters and exploration

- Free 4★ catalyst

- Events: Bomberman, Kamera, battle challenge
- Il Capitano (to be playable)
As mentioned by Genshin_Intel, this is just a quick overview so it doesn’t go into heavy details. However, fans are very excited.
Reacting to this leaked overview of update 5.0 on Reddit, fans are pumped for aspects such as WL9, but it’s “playable” Il Capitano that has caught the most attention.
While the prospect of being able to play as Il Capitano is exciting, the term “playable” has naturally confused fans. There’s no elaboration in the leaks, but the assumption is that he is getting a playable model and will release during one of the 5.X updates.
Despite the confusion as to what “playable” means exactly, fans are massively excited nonetheless. There are enthusiastic replies such as, “If Capitano is playable I’m not pulling for any motherf***er until he comes” and “98% comments don’t give a f about other leaks after reading – Capitano playable… Bro gonna break all records”.
There are other comments such as “CAPITANO YESSSSSSS, BIG DADDY is gonna be playable,” and there are comments speculating on his element, with most fans guessing that it will be Pyro. While his element hasn’t leaked, reliable leaker Mero has said that he uses a sword as his melee weapon:
Capitano will not release as a banner character in update 5.0 when it arrives late August. However, it’s suggested he will arrive sometime during one of the 5.X updates, and the excitement from fans is understandable as he has previously been hyped as one of the strongest characters in all of Teyvat.
