Genshin Impact is currently in the early stages of update 4.8, but already fans are looking ahead to 5.0. It is slated to come out next month, and fans are anticipating a great beginning to a new chapter from Hoyoverse. A leaked list of Genshin Impact 5.0 quality-of-life improvements and changes has appeared online, and fans are thrilled over what is coming.

As mentioned, we are only in the early stages of 4.8 which has also introduced a summer event to enjoy. Update 5.0 is expected to come out late-August, and a leak suggests the most powerful warrior in all of Teyvat will become playable at some point during the 5.X updates.

There is a lot to anticipate next month for the Genshin Impact community including new playable banner characters. However, while new playable characters are appreciated, fans should also be pleased to hear that Hoyoverse is continuing to improve the overall experience by delivering some QoL improvements and changes.

Genshin Impact 5.0 QoL changes and improvements leak

On the Genshin Impact leaks subreddit, OP Admirable-Tell3079 has shared a leaked list of 5.0 QoL improvements and changes. Replying to the mods, the OP says the leak comes courtesy of reliable Madcroix as reposted by Team Mew.

It is a translation so there may be some slight inaccuracies, but below is the leaked list:

  • Task guidelines add a prompt: “The task is temporarily unavailable. Go to
    check details.”
  • Players can possess Natlan’s dragons, such as “Ridgeback Dragon.”
  • A prompt will be given before using special dishes to revive characters.
  • A stamina cap notification is added during open-world exploration.
  • Players can skip floors 9 and 10 in the Abyss and directly claim rewards,
depending on their completion status from the previous period.
  • The Gnostic Hymn or Sojourner’s Battle Pass allows players to switch between
the desired four-star weapon or talent materials at any time before claiming the
    weapon reward.
  • A new report reason is added: inappropriate NPC nickname.
  • A new item similar to the one used to rename the Wanderer is added, but it is
not for renaming the Wanderer [used in the main storyline].
  • The Player Return event is significantly overhauled, with the addition of the
“Return Rewards.” Players can earn “Return Experience” by completing specific
tasks, exploring designated areas, and cultivating characters to claim rewards.
  • During the Player Return event, dungeons are not subject to the usual time
restrictions. For instance, dungeons that are typically open on Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday will remain open throughout the Player Return event.
  • Players can quickly access the Player Return interface via the quick wheel.
  • The reputation system in Natlan is adjusted to “Tribal Chronicles,” where
different tribes have different reputation systems.
  • The Genius Invokation TCG introduces new “Special Moves” and the “Sleight
of Hand” mechanic, which allows players to “steal cards.”

Reacting to the above list of leaks, it’s the skipping of floors 9 and 10 in the Abyss that has pleased fans the most. There are comments such as “finally,” “we won,” and the “devs listened”. There are more comments saying it’s “by far the best part” while another comment says “I was begging for this ever since HSR implemented it. Finally our voices were heard…”.

Aside from the skipping of floors 9 and 10, fans are also intrigued by card stealing as well as confused by the the addition of being able to report inappropriate nicknames.

Remember that none of these leaks are official as of writing even though they come from often reliable sources. Update 5.0 is currently slated to start late-August, but right now we still have a month remaining of update 4.8.
