Unreal Engine 3-powered shooter Gears of War 3 will support stereoscopic 3D, Epic Games revealed at a press event in London.
The decision to support stereoscopic 3D brings the Xbox 360 exclusive in line with other high-profile shooters, including Crytek’s Crysis 2 and Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops – as well as PS3 FPS Killzone 3.
Having played the game in 3D ourselves it’s clear that the in-development version of the game didn’t look as crisp as the demo units running the game in standard non-3D, and the frame rate took a hit.
Gears of War 3 will be released for the Xbox 360 on September 20, and you can check out Martin’s impressions of the game right here in our playthrough of the first act.
