Epic Games has unveiled the Gears of War 3 Limited and Epic Edition, detailing the wide range of shiny trinkets – including a 1.7kg statue of Marcus Fenix – you can get with the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive.

The Gears of War 3 Limited Edition retails for a rather hefty £59.99 and will include:

– An Octus Award Box with Octus Service Medal: A 1:1 match in size and weight, this zinc-alloy cog-shaped medal replicates the award given to Adam Fenix in recognition of his work on the Hammer of Dawn. Measurements: 77 mm (3 in.) x 10 mm (0.4 in.)

– Exclusive Unlockable Adam Fenix Multiplayer Character: Each Octus Service Medal replica is engraved with a unique Xbox LIVE code that is the only way to unlock Adam Fenix in multiplayer.

– A fabric COG Flag.

– The ‘personal effects’ of Adam Fenix, including his “Last Will and Testament,” the initial Hammer of Dawn schematic, and other Fenix family mementos.

The Epic Edition, however, will set you back a whopping £99.99 and is only available at GAME and Gamestation. It contains everything from the Limited Edition plus:

– A Limited Edition Marcus Fenix Statue: Designed by Epic Games Art Director Chris Perna and expertly crafted by the artisans at Triforce, this fine PVC statue collectible makes the ultimate living room centrepiece for any true “Gears” fan. Measurements: height 285 mm (11.2 in.), diameter 225 mm (8.9 in.). Weight: 1.7 kg (3.7 lb.)

– The Art and Design of Gears of War: Author Tom Bissell gives readers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into one of the series with 96 pages of interviews, photos, and concept artwork.

– Infected Omen Weapon Pack: Custom multiplayer skins for the game’s five starting weapons; Lancer, Retro Lancer, Hammerburst, Sawed-off Shotgun, and Gnasher Shotgun.

Neil Ashurst, head of UK PR for Game and Gamestation, said to VideoGamer.com that “Gears of War has an incredibly loyal and passionate fan-base – and rightly so, it is an iconic franchise and we are delighted to be offering this exclusive.”

Neil also thinks it’s a “must-have” for true fans of the series.

Both Gears of War 1 and 2 have received 10/10 scores from VideoGamer.com.

“Gears of War is simply an astounding game, and there’s little doubt that it’ll be remembered as a true classic,” said Tom Orry in his Gears of War review back in 2006.

In 2008, Tom said “In a year full of incredible games, Gears of War 2 sits triumphantly at the very top” in his Gears of War 2 review.

Gears of War 3 is scheduled for release on September 20.
