Gamestation.co.uk will be shut down on October 29, Game Retail Limited has announced.

The website will be closed as part of the retailer’s merge with sister brand GAME, which will also see all Gamestation stores rebranded to trade under the GAME name.

If you’ve previously shopped at Gamestation.co.uk, your account details will be transferred to GAME.co.uk along with any Elite XP points you’ve earned and any pre-orders you may have remaining.

“First and foremost, your account details are completely safe,” read a post on the Gamestation website. “Both GAME and gamestation were sister brands under Game Retail Ltd, so your details are still being held securely as before. You will simply access your account through a different website from 29th October.

“All active pre-orders for games, consoles and accessories will be transferred to GAME.co.uk, and you should see no disruption in the processing and despatch of your pre-order products.

“We’d like to thank you for being a great customer over the years, and we’ve truly enjoyed delivering the best in gaming to each and every one of you. Happy gaming!”

Gamestation was founded in 1993 before being acquired by GAME Group Ltd in 2007.

At the time of the brand unification’s announcement, CEO Martyn Gibbs said that “the new GAME will combine the best of both brands.

“For example, the gamestation trade-in proposition, “We Won’t Be Beaten On Trade-In”, continues under the new unified brand and likewise the passionate and knowledgeable gamestation store teams stay with us and continue to provide outstanding support and advice for all gamers.”
