MCV reports that leading UK video games retailer GAME has introduced warning stickers to its pre-owned stock which do not include DLC that would be found in the new version of the same game.

"We have been developing a policy for notifying customers at the point of purchase which was implemented last week in-store," a GAME spokesperson told MCV.

"Pre-owned copies of applicable titles have stickers on them saying 'check with staff for availability of downloadable content', giving staff the chance to explain clearly the difference so that our customers understand the benefits of buying both pre-owned and mint."

The practice of bundling free DLC with new copies of games has become a popular tactic to combat the lure of buying pre-owned, with the likes of Gears of War 2, Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2 and Bad Company 2 all offering some form of DLC bonus.
