Rapid Racoon – we’ll get to the reason for the racoon in a minute – is described as a thrilling, fast-paced and richly detailed racing game in which players pilot anti gravity vehicles and compete for the spoils.
The player starts with a choice of three anti gravity craft, each with different specifications, with new craft becoming available by winning championships.
Race events will take place across three universe in locations including UndaCity, Neo terra and The frontier. Each track will feature power-ups which can hinder and aid the player. These include missiles, mines, speedups, bombs and magnets.
Lexicon also notes that the game will feature network play, cutting edge visuals and ingenious AI.
Finally we get to the reason for the game’s title, Rapid Racoon. Each race team has a mascot and one of these mascots is a racoon – it’s genius. We’re already hoping for some sequels, namely Pacey Pigeon, Speedy Snake, Swift Squirrel, Fast Ferret and Quick Quail.
Look out for Rapid Racoon in February 2008 for Nintendo DS.
