EA Sports COO and vice president Daryl Holt chatted to Eurogamer recently about FIFA 19 and, more specifically, FIFA Ultimate Team. Holt confirmed that players will now know the odds of what they may pack in FUT.
"For Ultimate Team, when you buy a pack you know what you are getting,' Holt explained. 'You are getting a certain number of assets that are guaranteed – and we're going to start to do pack odds disclosures that'll show you the odds of what you might get.'
He added that this is in the publisher's 'year 19 titles,' but didn't clarify what these odds would pertain to. We don't know if the game will tell you, when opening a pack, how many of the cards will be players, consumables, what have you.
Holt also said that he didn't think FUT is gambling 'because there is no real-world currency value to the packs,' which is a curious stance to take when there are websites out there that allow you to sell FUT coins for actual coins.
