Fuse, the upcoming squad-based action game, will not require an online pass, developer Insomniac Games has announced.

In a FAQ posted on the Insomniac Games website, the answer to the question “Online pass?” reads: “Nope. But, you should still buy it new to support us because there are no microtransactions to make up for it, though.”

It’s not unusual for an EA Partners title to skip the online pass system, with Crytek’s Crysis 3 also offering multiplayer without the need to buy the game new.

Fuse will launch on May 31 for Xbox 360 and PS3, with a demo to appear close to this date.
