Square Enix has announced that Front Mission Evolved, developed by Double Helix Games, will be released for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in the spring.

Front Mission Evolved is described as an action-packed third-person shooter which will see players take full control of the Wanzer, a massive humanoid, fully customisable war machine, in a single-player campaign and online multi-player.

Larry Sparks, Vice President Brands PAL Region of Square Enix Ltd. commented: “We’re pleased to be releasing the next chapter in this classic franchise and invite existing fans and gamers new to the series to enjoy all the action that Front Mission Evolved has to offer.”

Front Mission Evolved is set in a future world in which technology has advanced and countries have merged into massive geopolitical blocks. Humanity’s appetite for war, however, remains the same. When a terrorist attack destroys one of the U.C.S.’s prized orbital elevators, the military is mobilised to eliminate the threat.
