Kalypso Media has announced the development of The First Templar, a new action-adventure title from Haemimont Games coming to Xbox 360 and PC early in 2011.

Set in the late thirteenth century, The First Templar follows the story of two characters – a French Templar, and his companion, a noble lady who has been proclaimed a heretic. Taking control of these two unlikely allies, the player must uncover the mysteries behind the Templar Order and discover the secret of the Holy Grail.

The game features both single-player and co-op modes. When playing solo, the player can switch between the two characters, leaving the control of the second hero to the game’s AI. With drop-in, drop-out co-op a second player can join the game at any time.

The First Templar is scheduled for release in Q1 2011.
