Free-to-play shooter Loadout will soon be released as a console exclusive on PS4, developer Edge of Reality has announced.
Already with three million players on PC, Loadout is an over the top third-person shooter with an outrageous cast of characters and the promise of billions of weapons.
“Loadout is a game that lets you concoct the weapon of your dreams and/or nightmares from hundreds of component parts, and share their payloads with your friends in fast-paced matches, with violently comedic results,” wrote Mark Nau, creative director at Edge of Reality. “Giant death beam? We’ve got it covered. Bouncy Tesla balls? Sure. Laser-guided cluster-bomb rockets? Hey, we’re not here to judge.”
In Loudout, when players take damage the impact is there for all to see. Limbs and heads are severed clean off, Death Becomes Her-style holes reveal internal organs, and flames leave players baked to a crisp.
Look out for a firm release date later this year.
