Aeria Games has announced F.E.A.R. Online, a new free-to-play multiplayer shooter spin-off of Warner’s classic horror series.

Developed by Korean studio Inplay Interactive, F.E.A.R. Online is described as a “hardcore” PC multiplayer shooter that furthers “the dark and ominous story surrounding Alma Wade”.

Several team-based competitive modes are included in the FPS, which sees the Armacham Technology Corporationbattling against the elite F.E.A.R. team, along with four-player co-op scenarios that run alongside the events of F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin.

F.E.A.R. 3’s ‘Soul King’ mode is also set to make an appearance.

“We are thrilled to present the next entry in one of the most popular horror franchises of the last decade,” said Tom Nichols, vice president of PC Games, Aeria Games. “F.E.A.R. Online will bring back the tense, heart-pounding action that the series is known for and make it accessible to a huge online community of competitive players.”

A release date for the game has yet to be announced, but players can sign up to the beta on the game’s official website.
