CD Projekt Red is giving away a free “legendary” RPG this coming Thursday to anyone who’s bought The Witcher 2.

The mystery prize will also be available to anyone who buys the game in the future.

The Polish studio has been hinting at a big announcement for sometime now. Head of marketing Michal Platkow-Gilewski has told Eurogamer that this week’s offer won’t be accompanied by any revelations, but might offer “hints” to what lies on the horizon.

“No, there will be no announcement of a new game,” he said. “But to give you some hints and not to spoil the surprise, CD Projekt RED and GOG.com have prepared something very special for all the PC fans of The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings, who already have the game, as well as for all those who will buy one any time in the future.”

Platkow-Gilewski also said that the new game will be “really unique”.

Meanwhile The Witcher 2 will be coming to Xbox 360 on April 17. Keep an eye out for our review soon.

What could this game be? CD Projekt Red has only ever made The Witcher and its sequel, and it seems weird to think it would just give away the first game again.

Could it be that that the studio has acquired the rights to a classic RPG series?
