Playground Games has dropped the latest Series 9 update for Forza Horizon 5, bringing along co-op for Horizon Stories mode.

Following the update, players can now take on the Horizon Stories with up to five other racers. The highest score counts, so only one person needs to finish the objectives for everyone to get credit. It’s not the only addition of course, with lots of other tweaks and fixes to the game too. This includes a fix that was preventing full 12 player convoys from launching events.

Elsewhere, the update also adds Temporal Anti-Aliasing for PC players, making their experience look better than ever. There’s a new EV Monthly Rivals Event, and a bunch of new cosmetics and items are coming over the next few weeks too. In fact, many of these are Hot Wheels themed, in celebration of the game’s Hot Wheels DLC coming next month.

In a similar vein, Series 9 also brings a number of new vehicles to the game themed around Hot Wheels favourites over the course of the season. They include the 2018 Hot Wheels 2JetZ, the 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula-S and the 1957 Hot Wheels Nash Metropolitan Custom. There’s also a number of Hot Wheels motors that’ll be available via Wheelspin – or unlockable in the expansion’s campaign once it launches. These include the 2005 Hot Wheels Mustang and the iconic 2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod.

You can check out a rundown of the highlights over on the Forza website, while full patch notes are over here. The Series 9 update with Horizon Stories co-op is available now in Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. The upcoming Hot Wheels expansion, meanwhile, arrives on July 19.
