Microsoft has announced that Forza Horizon 3 has been kitted out with Xbox One X support, with a free update for the adrenaline-fuelled racer now available to download. As expected, the game has received a visual boost in the form of 4K support plus a number of other enhancements.

Chiefly, players will be able to gawk at improved car reflections and shadow resolutions, plus flashier terrain and road surface thanks to spruced up textures. Pleasingly, these improvements will also be fully compatible with Forza Horizon 3’s Blizzard Mountain and Hot Wheels expansions.

Elsewhere, loading times for the game have also received a welcome boost, while overall it appears the update will offer a much smoother experience for players in addition to its sumptuous-looking 4K botox injections.

‘These enhancements are all about the visuals.  We know that our fans really value great image quality, so we’ve taken this opportunity to deliver that to them with this update on Xbox One X. On top of the obvious enhancement to native 4K, there are a number of other improvements we’ve made which really take advantage of the added definition 4K brings,’ said Playground Games’ Ralph Fulton.
