Microsoft has confirmed that it has no plans to release DLC for the Xbox 360 version of Forza Horizon 2. Instead, DLC will only be available for the Xbox One version.

Forza Rewards benefits, which rewards loyal players with additional cars and credits, are only available in the Xbox One version, too, while progress in the last-gen version will not count towards your overall Forza Rewards Tier Level.

“We are currently planning to release DLC only for the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2,” Forza community manager Brian Ekberg posted on the game’s official forums. “Also, Forza Rewards benefits are only available in the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2. This means that Xbox 360 players will not receive Forza Rewards credits or cars.

“In addition, progress in the 360 version of Forza Horizon 2 does not count towards your Forza Rewards Tier Level score. Only progress in the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2 will count towards your overall Forza Score (and Tier Level) in Forza Rewards.”

Confirmation follows the release of Forza Horizon 2’s first DLC car pack on Xbox One yesterday. But to some players the news has come far too late.

“I wish they would have mentioned this before I bought the game,” commented one disappointed fan.
