Microsoft has announced that the people who’ve preordered the digital version of Forza Motorsport 7 can now start their pre-load. The pre-load went up earlier this morning, and I’ll warn you now it’s quite the hefty download. The PC version will be 45GB initially, and after the day one patch it’ll be almost 100GB at launch. The Xbox One version will be 67GB in total after the 45GB install from the disc, and this is because it doesn’t have the 4K textures pack. Xbox One X owners will need to download the additional 4K texture pack when the console is released in November.

The game’s developer Turn 10 had previously announced that Forza 7 on PC would have a 50GB day one patch due to including the 4K texture pack. With the 45GB disc install, this will take the game up to a space-gobbling 95GB. Cripes. If you’ve bought the digital version of the game for the PC, it’ll also include the day one patch as part of the download. Just make sure you have enough storage space available on your HDD.

If you’ve preordered the game on Xbox Live before today, make sure you delete the small 100MB file that was downloaded and installed at the time. That’s only a placeholder file. After doing that, reinstall the game again to kick off the proper 67GB pre-load.

Forza Motorsport 7 will be out on October 3 for Xbox One and PC. If you’ve bought the Ultimate Edition, you’ll be able to play the game from September 29.
