Another Fortnite update has just hit the game, and it brings a massive change to the storm. Epic Games has made the storm much faster and deadlier, completely changing the way the game is played and forcing everyone to be more aggressive.
This is a huge change that will make Fortnite matches much shorter and more intense. The developers have tweaked the storm’s wait times and damage, making the game more challenging, especially in later stages.
Fortnite makes significant changes to the storm
The wait times for the storm have been significantly reduced, especially in the early phases. The time between the circles closing has been cut down, so you will have to move a lot faster if you don’t want to get caught in the storm.
Here is a comparison of the storm before the update and after it:
Phase | Old Wait Time | New Wait Time |
---|---|---|
Phase 1 | 120s | 90s |
Phase 2 | 90s | 70s |
Phase 3 | 90s | 70s |
Phase 4 | 90s | 70s |
Phase 5 | 60s | 40s |
Phase 6 | 60s | 40s |
Phase 7 | 60s | 40s |
Phase 8 | 30s | 30s |
Phase 9+ | 15s | 15s |
Not only has the wait time decreased, but the storm does a lot more damage. In fact, the damage has been doubled in every phase, which makes survival even more challenging. This also prevents players from healing off in the storm, as it now takes only five seconds in the endgame.
Unfortunately, these changes also caused some issues with the Creative and Reload modes, so Epic Games temporarily disabled extra damage for the time being. However, the developers have confirmed that they are working on a fix, and we can expect the storm damage to increase soon. In the meantime, the new wait times will remain active, so keep an eye on the storm!
