Fortnite’s latest movie crossover is here, with a tie-in to the highly anticipated and imminent release of animated sequel Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse.
To celebrate, this week’s Fortnite update sees the return of Spider-Man’s webshooters, as the webslinger is no stranger to the battle royale game. However, they’ve been given a bit of a Spider-Verse makeover, with a new Miles Morales themed look centered around the new movie. Speaking of Miles himself, he’s now in the game’s item shop in the form of the Spider-Man (Miles Morales) Outfit, along with another version of Spidey who’ll play a big part in the upcoming movie with the Spider-Man 2099 Outfit.
Alongside the cosmetics, players will also be able to take on a number of Spidey-themed tasks with the Week 11 Quests. Completing these will not only grant players XP, but also give them the chance to nab a unique reward directly from the movie – namely the lobby music track Silk & Cologne (EI8HT version) lifted straight from the soundtrack.
The Spider-Man Miles Morales Outfit comes with a masked Earth 1610 alt style and includes a Spider-Verse Portal Back Bling. The shop also has Spider-Ham’s Mallet Pickaxe (from the first movie) which includes a built-in Put ‘er There Emote. The Spider-Man 2099 Outfit, meanwhile, includes a 2099 Web Cape Back Bling and a dual wield 928 Axes Pickaxe. Getting the bundle with both outfits together will also net you a nifty MEGA City Swing Loading screen.
All these are available in Fortnite right now, while Across the Spider-Verse is set to hit cinema screens from June 2, 2023. Fortnite recently got a brand new Ranked mode – but at the cost of the removal of Trios mode.
