Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix is at its final leg as Epic is all set to bring another rapper to the island with update 32.20. Alongside that files for the upcoming Remix Finale live event will also be added, giving players the first look at the concert that will take place to launch Chapter 6.
However, before all that Epic released a hotfix this week in which they fixed one of the most annoying features which was hindering the gameplay for players during Chapter 2 Remix. While some may say it’s been a long time coming, here’s exactly why the change was made in the first place.
Fortnite removes Chiller Grenade from Ice Spice boss loadout
Fortnite released a hotfix on November 18 in which they tweeted, “Time to defrost! Due to a gameplay issue affecting Ice Spice’s Chiller Grenade usage, we have disabled them while we work on a fix.” The post on X informed players that after they team up with Ice Spice after defeating them, the boss will not throw Chiller Grenades anymore at enemies or around you like it used to.
The change was much-requested by players, especially those who even got backstabbed by the boss and got eliminated by being inches away from a Victory Royale. To those unaware, the Chiller Grenade when thrown impulses the player back a few meters and turns their feet into icy feet which causes them to slide further behind.
If thrown at a player on high ground, even by an ally, it can cause the affected player to take fall damage and ultimately get eliminated. To counter this, Fortnite players chose to dismiss the Ice Spice boss NPC as soon as they defeated her so they wouldn’t be affected by this broken strat.
However now that the grenades are out of the game, the only method you can get icy feet is if you’re using Ice Spice’s Icy Grappler mythic item. Still don’t like being affected by ice? Dip your feet in water and the icy effect will go away.
