Epic Games paid more than half a billion dollars to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in late 2023. However, nearly half of this money was reserved for a massive Fortnite refund. In total, eligible players will receive $245 million combined.

Originally, January 17 was the deadline to apply for an FTC refund. However, the FTC extended the deadline, giving Fortnite players a few more weeks to apply for it. Thanks to this, it is still possible to get a refund, so if you haven’t done it by now, this is your chance to do so.

It’s important to note that the FTC will process refunds throughout 2024. At the moment, it’s impossible to tell how much players will get back from it. However, the final amount will depend on several factors, from a number of eligible players to the amount of unwanted transactions. The FTC has posted all necessary information on its website, including the link to apply for a refund.

If you need more help, our guide will lead you through all the steps and show you how to apply for a Fortnite refund. Keep in mind that you have to be 18 to apply for it. Furthermore, this refund is only eligible to the residents of the United States, since this is an FTC case.

The deadline is February 28, 2024. After this date, you will no longer be able to apply for a refund, so make sure to do it as soon as possible, as it’s unlikely that the FTC will postpone the deadline once again.

In the meantime, Epic Games is dealing with the aftermath of the lawsuit against Apple. The Fortnite creator lost the case against the tech giant and will likely have to pay more than $70 million in legal fees. On top of it, the popular video game will not return to the App Store anytime soon.
