Fortnite: Save the World is the original mode of the popular videogame. Released in July 2017, it’s had many ups and downs. However, there is no doubt that the PvE mode was stomped by Fortnite Battle Royale, which was released two months later.
Save the World has a lot of issues, but the biggest issue is the lack of content. Epic Games stopped developing the mode and hasn’t even finished its storyline. Due to this, many players stopped playing it, despite having fantastic items.
Despite all the issues, Fortnite: Save the World has been on the rise for the past few months. It recently broke its record for the most concurrent players since the public count was released.
Another Fortnite record is here
On the second day of the Fortnite OG Season, nearly 45 million players logged in, which is an all-time record. However, it’s interesting that the other modes have also been very popular, from Save the World to Creative and Ranked.
Fortnite: Save the World broke its record for the most concurrent players since the public player count was released. On Sunday, the PvE mode had 53,472 players, which is impressive. The previous record was around 44,000 players and was set in early November. Before that, the peak was just above 32,000.
Interestingly, Fortnite’s PvE mode has been consistently on the rise over the last month. Epic Games hasn’t released any major updates for it, so this is a rather surprising trend. On top of that, Save the World is not free, but it can be purchased with some bundles that include Fortnite cosmetic items.
Besides the PvE mode, Fortnite’s Ranked mode also broke its all-time record for the most concurrent players. This also happened on Sunday, as 1.13 million people played the competitive mode. For the first time, Fortnite had two game modes with more than 1 million concurrent players, with the other mode being Battle Royale.
