Since its inception, Fortnite has often provided fans with a bevy of iconic, pop culture crossovers that made the Epic Games battle royale immediately stand out from the rest of the pack. From the memorable Travis Scott extravaganza in Chapter 2 Season 2 to the more recent addition of Optimus Prime as part of the Wilds update, players have often had plenty of goodies to enjoy and it doesn’t seem like this trend is going to stop any time soon.

But with several past collaborations having been locked behind the battle pass, some people are lamenting the fact that they can no longer acquire some of the game’s most iconic skins since previous BP iterations are no longer going to return. Unfortunately, not even the shiny new Fortnite weapons in Chapter 4 Season 3 can help make up for the cosmetics that have been lost to the battle pass void.

One Twitter user named RevivalofPotara even created a post saying that “the two most iconic superheroes of all time are battle pass skins so no one can get them again.” They then attached their message with images of the memorable Superman and Spider-Man skins, both of which were locked behind their respective season’s BP.

Naturally, most of the players commenting under the thread agreed with the post creator’s sentiment as a few responders went on to mention Darth Vader, Dr. Strange, Spider-Gwen, and Raven as a few more of the notable cosmetics that have been permanently lost. Of course, these aren’t the only outfits that players want, but these are the ones that stand out the most because of their relevancy to mainstream media.

Obviously, this might not be much of an issue if you were one of the fans that were able to acquire them during the seasons they were available in. However, a majority of players, especially new ones, can no longer gain access them due to the mere fact that content in past BPs will no longer be returning.

Hopefully, Epic Games introduces a new feature that will allow users to purchase specific content from previous seasons. Otherwise, this issue might just force players not to purchase skins at all as the best ones often seem to be locked behind an inaccessible paywall.

While you wait for the developers to introduce this specific feature, though, we suggest checking out our Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 battle pass and skins page and our guide on how to ride raptors in Fortnite so you can enjoy the new content in the meantime.
