Fortnite Battle Royale has drastically changed since its release in September 2017. When the video game just came out, it was rather simple and only had a few game modes. In 2023, the situation is much different, as Epic Games has released hundreds of updates over the last six years.

Thanks to these updates, Fortnite now looks different from its 2017 version, and considering how dedicated Epic is, it’s unlikely that the game will stop getting new updates anytime soon. The latest update was rather small, but it drastically improved Fortnite for many players.

With Season 5 around the corner, we expect even more new content to come out soon.

The latest Fortnite update brought a small but amazing change

Earlier this year, Epic Games released Fortnite’s Ranked mode. The mode replaced Arena and brought many improvements. Thanks to it, players can now earn free cosmetic items every season. On top of it, playing against tougher competition is much more interesting, and the Ranked mode features a unique scoring system.

With the latest small update, Epic released Daily Ranked Loss Protection to the competitive mode. Each day at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, the loss protection will reset, meaning that players will not be penalized for poor performance in their first Ranked match of the day.

It’s important to note that the loss protection affects only the first match. Considering that many players want to warm up before getting into fights, the new Fortnite feature is perfect and will positively impact their progress.

Fortnite’s Ranked mode is the third most popular game mode, right after Battle Royale and Zero Build. The mode is currently in its second season, and the new season will likely come out by the end of the year. With Chapter 5 coming soon, Epic Games will likely release even more changes to this mode.
