Epic Games released an unexpected Fortnite update on Wednesday morning, bringing many nerfs and changes. The update did not bring any new content, which is why it requires no download or downtime. Next time you jump into a Fortnite match, you will notice all of the changes that were recently released.

In this article, we will take a detailed look at everything that changed. In addition to the nerfs that arrived with the update, Epic also unvaulted the Shockwave Hammer, a popular weapon from Chapter 4. At the same time, the game developer removed the Hammer Assault Rifle and the Exotic Shockwave Launcher from the game.

The latest Fortnite update brought numerous nerfs

Bugs have played a huge part in the events of Fortnite Chapter 6 – Season 4 so far. Players have exterminated so many of them that Epic has promised them a free reward. Over a billion bugs have been taken down so far, and this number is only going to increase, as the latest update brought drastic nerfs for them.

Here are all the changes that arrived with the update:

  • Damage from small bugs has been decreased from 3 to 1
  • Hit points of small bugs have been reduced from 35 to 20
  • Hit points of medium bugs have been reduced from 500 to 350
  • Medium bugs no longer retreat when damaged
  • Queens no longer spawn reinforcements
  • Bugs have a smaller detection radius and 40% slower attacks
  • Bugs don’t initially spawn in POIs

The next Fortnite update is set to come out on Tuesday, September 9. Considering that the bugs have been nearly exterminated, we expect this update to bring map changes. Epic Games still hasn’t released the free back bling for players, and that may also change next Tuesday.
